Our services are contemporary in nature. You will see people singing loudly or quietly assuming an attitude of prayer, clapping or raising their hands, standing reverently or kneeling, or possibly even dancing. We encourage all genuine expressions of biblical worship during our services. Our goal in corporate worship is to effectively lead others into the presence of God where they can respond appropriately to His greatness and glory, be intimately touched by His nearness, and be powerfully changed into His likeness. Yet our worship should never cease. Worship is best viewed as our response to God, both personally and corporately, for who He is and what He has done, expressed in and by the things we say and the way we live.
Providence Church is privileged to belong to the Acts 29 Network, a peer-to-peer association of churches around the world called and committed to the Gospel through church planting. Acts 29 is not a denomination, but a network of like-minded pastors who are dedicated to planting local, missional, Christ-centered communities to effectively reach the emerging generation. Acts 29 is also a network of pastors from around the nation and world whose dream is to help qualified leaders called by God plant new churches and replant declining churches.
In April 2005 Providence Church was the first church planted by The Village Church in Highland Village, TX. Although we are self-sustaining and autonomous from The Village, Providence still fosters its partnership with The Village through resourcing, training, and planting.
In addition, Providence Church also partners with the Denton Baptist Association (DBA) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and Compassion International.
Partnering with Acts 29 allows us to ensure our focus is outward, planting churches as the Bible calls us to all over the world. Providence provides regional leadership to Acts 29.
Our partnership with the Village allows us to leverage the wisdom of a larger and older church. It also allows us access to resources such as couseling and leadership development without having to develop them ourselves.
Affiliation with the SBC allows our church to participate in the largest missionary organization in the world. Through the SBC “Cooperative Program” we help support over 7,500 missionaries in 104 countries around the world. While we support the SBC in missions, we do not send delegates to the annual convention.
