Show Up & Change the World
PROVIDENCE CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
5pm & 7pm at our new building!
Northwest corner of Preston and Lebanon in Frisco - 5625 Preston Rd.
This year’s Christmas Eve Services (5pm & 7pm) will be unlike any other church services you’ve ever experienced. One of the pressures of moving into a new building is to “fill the seats” and make sure we “draw a crowd” and if we’re not careful, before we know it, we become an internally focused church that cares more about how big we can get than how missionally effective we are. Our Christmas Eve Services will be designed to continue the “give your life away” momentum and fight this very issue.
We are asking everyone who calls Providence Church home to rsvp their family and as many other families as possible for one of the Christmas Eve services in our new building. This helps in two major ways. It allows us to plan the best possible experience for those attending each service. And it also gives us the tools to something that’s never been done before. Rather than spending thousands of dollars on marketing our Christmas Eve program and trying to fill the seats and warm our souls for one night, what it we did something bigger, more courageous and much more eternally significant?
Did you know that over 4,000 children die everyday because they do not have safe, clean drinking water? Over 884 million people live in a situation where clean, safe drinking water is a “dream”, it would be like hitting the “lottery” but it doesn’t have to be. You and I could do something about it and together we will on December 24th.
Christmas Eve tends to be a time spent thinking about ourselves, our families and our blessings and for a church moving into a new building the temptation to think only about ourselves will be even greater, but here’s what we can do.
For each person that rsvp’s and shows up to a service we will donate, on their behalf, to Water Missions International, enough to provide clean, safe drinking water for life to someone in desperate need.
We could have spent thousands of dollars marketing our services and trying to let people know how great the music and message would be, but we thought this was much more significant and be much more in line with the kind of church we want to be. It’s never about us, it’s about giving life away in such a way that God is glorified and lives are changed forever. What a Christmas Eve this will be! So RSVP as many people as you can, so that we can give away as much water as we can. This means, when you look around at a packed service on Christmas Eve, it will mean much more than how much we’re blessed, it will be a reflection of the blessings of God flowing freely from his church!
