Jordan Stone

JordanBy God’s grace I was born into a family with a mother and father that loved the Savior deeply and they sought to share that knowledge with their five children – of which I am the only boy.  My mom says that I first professed Jesus as Lord when I was six years old at a VBS and although I really have no recollection of that moment, the change in me was supposedly immediately evident.

The next fourteen or fifteen years were spent primarily on the soccer field as I played for various clubs and was even afforded to opportunity to play in a few world championships.  At the age of seventeen I signed a contract to play professionally in the MLS and I thought I had finally “made it.”  But evidently the Lord had other plans as I retired at the age of 20 and six months later I was working in the student ministry of FBC Prosper.

After three joyful – and interesting! – years of serving the middle school and high school students of Prosper I joined the staff here at Providence in May of 2008 as Missions Pastor and about four months later I transitioned into my current role of pastoring Home Groups.

My Hope for Providence
My deepest hope for Providence is that this the church would be a place where the person and work of Jesus - His death, burial, and resurrection - would be proclaimed, worshipped, and lived out.  Ultimately, I hope that Providence will be a place that does indeed bring God great glory through lives changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
